1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the Ubermorgen Publishing Listening Library (www.umpublish.com) and its Android app, operated by Ubermorgen Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is 60 Cannon Street, London, EC4N 6NP, United Kingdom. Contact: info@ubermorgen.land.

2. What information we collect

Browsing and listening do not require an account. To like or favourite a title, comment, or keep your listening positions across devices, you create an account with your name, e-mail address, a public username and a password, or you sign in with Google, in which case Google tells us your name, e-mail address and a Google account identifier. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes.

While you listen we record which titles you started, your position in them and how long you listened, so you can resume and so we can see which titles are popular. Likes, favourites, comments and messages sent through the feedback button are stored with your account; feedback also records the page you sent it from.

Standard web server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) may be retained for security and performance purposes by our hosting provider, Google Cloud.

All titles are streamed as audio files from our own storage; no YouTube player is embedded. Some title pages link to the same reading on our YouTube channel: if you follow that link you leave this site, and YouTube (operated by Google LLC) applies its own privacy policy.

3. Cookies

We set only cookies the site needs: one that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, one that remembers your language choice for a year, and, for visitors without an account, one that lets the player remember your position. We set no advertising or analytics cookies, and no third-party cookies are set while you browse or listen. You can manage cookies in your browser settings. The full list is on our Cookies page.

4. How we use information

We do not sell, share, or otherwise process personal data for marketing or profiling purposes. Account and listening data are used solely to provide the service and to understand which titles are listened to. Server log data is used for security monitoring and website performance analysis.

5. Third-party services

Sign in with Google is provided by Google under its own terms, and only if you choose to use it. Links to our YouTube channel take you to YouTube, which is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Public facts about authors and books are fetched from Wikipedia, and some author portraits may load from Wikimedia. We are not responsible for data collected by these providers.

6. Your rights (UK GDPR)

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, rectify, or erase the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings on the website or under Account in the app, which removes your account, listening history, likes, favourites and comments. You can also clear just your listening history there with Clear listening history, delete your own comments and remove likes and favourites, while keeping the account; or write to info@ubermorgen.land.

7. Data retention

Account and listening data are retained until you ask us to delete them. Server logs are retained for no longer than 90 days. The Android app keeps your sign-in on your phone, encrypted and excluded from device backups, and sends nothing else beyond what is described above.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access. This website is served over HTTPS and passwords are never stored in plain text.

9. Children’s privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
