Laura

Laura by Saki is a witty, darkly comic short story about mortality and the way people respond to it. As Laura calmly discusses her impending death with Amanda, their conversation turns toward reincarnation, marriage, revenge, and the absurdities of respectable social life. Saki balances macabre subject matter with elegant satire and sharply observant dialogue. Recommended for listeners who enjoy classic short fiction, dry wit, dark humor, and social satire.
